Standard Apparel launched its retail division in 2008, opening Canada’s first Fred Perry store in Toronto’s fashionable Queen Street West area. The store was lauded by Fred Perry UK for its layout, design and interpretation of the classic Fred Perry store design philosophy. Sales have grown steadily over the years as the store continues to integrate itself into the community through its involvement in music, fashion and culture.
In 2011, Standard Apparel opened its second shop – Canada’s first Oliver Spencer boutique. In conjunction with Oliver himself, the shop was designed to mirror the design aesthetic of his London shop. It also has become a fixture in the community and has since added other lines including Filson and Universal Works. As well, the shop became Canada’s top retailer of Aesop skin, hair and body products.
